When should we book our Barcelona wedding photographer?

For peak season (May to October): Book 12 to 18 months in advance. The best photographers are typically booked 1 to 2 years out for Saturday weddings in June, July, and September. For off-peak season (November to March): 6 to 9 months is usually sufficient, though popular dates around Christmas and Valentine's Day fill up quickly. For elopements and micro-weddings: 3 to 6 months ahead often works, especially for weekday ceremonies. My availability: I take a limited number of weddings each year to ensure every couple receives my full attention. If you're considering me, reach out early, even if your date isn't finalized yet. Do you travel outside Barcelona for weddings? Absolutely.

While I'm based in Barcelona, I regularly photograph weddings across: Costa Brava (Tossa de Mar, Cadaqués, Begur) Sitges & Garraf Coast Mallorca & Ibiza Madrid, Seville, San Sebastián International destinations (Italy, France, Portugal, Greece) Travel fees are calculated transparently based on distance and accommodation needs. For weddings within 1 hour of Barcelona, travel is typically included in my packages. Can we meet before booking? Yes, and I encourage it. I offer complimentary video calls for all couples considering me.

This isn't a sales pitch; it's a chance for us to: Discuss your vision and priorities Review my full galleries (not just Instagram highlights) Talk through your Barcelona venue and timeline See if our personalities click The best photos happen when you trust your photographer. A 20-minute call tells us both if we're the right fit.

What happens if you're sick or can't make it?

This is a question every couple should ask every photographer.

My backup system:

Equipment backup: I carry two professional camera bodies, multiple lenses, and redundant memory cards to every wedding Photographer backup: I'm part of a trusted network of 5 Barcelona wedding photographers. If an emergency prevents me from attending (this has never happened, but I'm prepared), I have a qualified replacement who matches my style and quality standards Image backup: All photos are backed up to dual memory cards during the wedding and to cloud storage within 24 hours Insurance: Full professional liability and equipment insurance

During prep: I'm a quiet observer, capturing natural moments, laughter, tears, the dress going on

During the ceremony: I position myself discreetly, using silent shutter modes. You'll barely notice me During portraits: I guide you with gentle direction, "walk toward me and look at each other", so you feel natural, not posed

Barcelona Wedding Photography FAQ: Everything Couples Ask Before Booking

How much time do we need for couple portraits?

For Barcelona weddings, I recommend: Table

Scenario Time Needed Best Light

First look + portraits 45 to 60 minutes Anytime (controlled) Post-ceremony portraits 30 to 45 minutes Golden hour (1 hour before sunset) Iconic Barcelona locations (Park Güell, Gothic Quarter) 60 to 90 minutes Early morning or golden hour Sunset portraits 20 to 30 minutes Last 30 minutes of daylight I'll help you build a timeline that maximizes beautiful light without keeping guests waiting. Do you photograph same-sex weddings? Of course. Love is love. I've been honored to photograph LGBTQ+ weddings throughout Barcelona and am committed to creating a safe, welcoming, and celebratory experience for all couples.

How long until we receive our photos?

Sneak peek: 5 to 7 days after the wedding (10 to 15 images for social media) Full gallery: 4 to 6 weeks for standard delivery Rush delivery: 2 weeks available for an additional fee Each image is individually edited for color, exposure, and consistency with my signature style. I don't batch-edit or use AI filters, every photo receives personal attention.

How many photos will we receive?

It depends on your package and the length of coverage, but as a general guide: Table Coverage Hours Estimated Edited Photos 6 hours 300 to 400 8 hours 400 to 500 10 hours 500 to 650 12+ hours 650 to 900 I don't limit the number of photos artificially. You receive every image that meets my quality standards, no "pay per photo" nonsense. Do we get the raw / unedited files? My packages include high-resolution, fully edited JPEGs with full print rights. Raw files are not included, as they represent unfinished work. If you have a specific need for raw files (e.g., a professional retoucher you work with), I'm happy to discuss this on a case-by-case basis. Can we share photos on social media? Yes! All my packages include full social media sharing rights.

I only ask that you tag me (@yourhandle) when sharing, it helps other Barcelona couples find me, and I genuinely love seeing your posts. I also provide a curated selection of Instagram-optimized images (vertical crop, light compression) in your gallery for easy sharing.

What's your photography style?

I describe my style as "documentary soul with editorial eyes." Documentary: I believe the best moments are unscripted. The tear your mother wipes away. The way your partner looks at you when you aren't watching. The spontaneous dance move during the reception. Editorial: When we do portraits, I draw on fashion photography techniques, beautiful light, thoughtful composition, and posing that feels natural but looks stunning. My color palette is warm and timeless, with true-to-life skin tones and a soft, romantic quality that doesn't feel over-processed. Do you shoot film or digital? I shoot 100% digital with professional Sony mirrorless cameras.

While I love the aesthetic of film, digital technology has advanced to the point where I can achieve a film-like quality with greater reliability, especially important for once-in-a-lifetime moments. For couples who specifically want film photography, I can arrange a hybrid package with a trusted film specialist as a second shooter.

How do you handle Barcelona's tourist crowds?

Barcelona is a busy city, and popular photo locations like Park Güell and the Gothic Quarter can be packed. My strategies: Timing: We shoot at sunrise or during golden hour when crowds are thinner

Hidden gems: I know quiet corners, side streets, and lesser-known viewpoints that tourists miss

Patience: Sometimes we wait 2 minutes for a group to pass. It's worth it for a clean shot Embracing the energy: Sometimes the crowd becomes part of the story, a Barcelona wedding photo with life happening around you can be magical

Destination Wedding Specifics

We're coming from abroad. How does planning work? About 60% of my couples are international (UK, USA, Australia, Middle East, Asia). I make the process seamless: Communication: Email, WhatsApp, or video calls, whatever works for your time zone Timeline planning: I help coordinate with your planner to account for Barcelona's unique logistics Vendor recommendations: I can suggest trusted Barcelona wedding planners, florists, hair/makeup artists, and venues Legal requirements: While I'm not a legal expert, I can point you to resources for civil ceremonies in Spain Weather backup plans: Barcelona is generally sunny, but I always have indoor location options ready Do you speak English? Yes, fluently. I also speak Spanish and Catalan.

For weddings with international guests, I can communicate comfortably with your family and wedding party.

What if it rains on our wedding day?

Barcelona enjoys 300+ sunny days per year, but rain happens, especially in October and April. My approach: Embrace it: Rainy wedding photos can be incredibly romantic and unique Indoor locations: I scout covered options at every venue (arcades, courtyards, elegant interiors) Umbrellas: Clear umbrellas make for gorgeous, dreamy portraits Flexibility: If the forecast shifts, we adjust the timeline to catch breaks in the weather

How do we book you?

Reach out via my contact form with your date and venue Schedule a call to discuss your vision and see if we're a good fit Review the contract, I use clear, straightforward agreements with no hidden clauses Pay the retainer (30% of the package price) to secure your date Sign the contract, your date is officially reserved!

The remaining balance is due 2 weeks before the wedding.

Do you offer payment plans? Yes. While the standard structure is 30% retainer + 70% final payment, I can split the balance into 3 to 4 installments for couples who prefer. Just let me know during our call.

What's your cancellation policy?

Life happens. My policy is: More than 6 months before: Retainer refunded minus a €300 administrative fee 3 to 6 months before: 50% of retainer refunded Less than 3 months before: Retainer retained, but transferable to a new date within 12 months (subject to availability) I always try to be flexible and understanding with unexpected circumstances. Still Have Questions? This FAQ covers the most common questions, but every wedding is unique. If you're planning a Barcelona wedding and want to talk through your specific situation, I'd love to hear from you. No question is too small, whether it's about the best light at your venue, what to wear for your engagement session, or how to handle a tricky family dynamic. I've seen it all, and I'm here to help.
